Surrogacy Requirements

Meeting EDSI’s basic surrogate requirements is the first step, not the final qualification. Before a candidate can be presented to intended parents, she must complete the required EDSI Ready for Matching process, including required pregnancy and delivery record review, OB clearance and current health documentation, health and medication review, psychological evaluation, background screening, support and readiness assessment, preliminary insurance review, and final internal qualification. After a mutual match, the intended parents’ fertility clinic performs its own medical evaluation and makes the final medical clearance decision.
