Shows To Watch Before Becoming A Parent Through California Surrogacy

Becoming a parent is a scary thing – even if you are doing it through California surrogacy and you have been planning for it for a long time. You may be doing as much research as you can to learn how to be a good parent. The good news is that there are plenty of options out there to see good parents and bad parents. Television has long been a source of entertainment as well as a learning tool. There are some parent/child relationships that you can model your own relationship with your child after – or at least learn some tips and tricks.

We suggest you look at the following shows:

Rainbow & Dre Johnson, black-ish

One of the best families to watch on television at the moment is the Johnson family from black-ish. Both of the parents are interesting, flawed characters who move through the world with love of their children. Rainbow is a great example for working moms who are strong on the outside but have soft souls. Dre Johnson, on the other hand, is a parent who is learning what it means to be a leader, a parent, and a person. It’s a great dynamic.

Burt Hummel, Glee

Glee was a flawed show, but it also produced one of the best parent/child relationships ever shown – that of Burt and Kurt Hummel. Kurt wasn’t an easy child to love, had an attitude, and faced immense bullying in his high school. His dad, Burt, couldn’t have been any more different from his son. Still, they learned more about each other and supported each other through everything.

D.J. Tanner-Fuller & Kimmy Gibbler, Fuller House

You may remember Danny Tanner being a great father on Full House, but he has nothing on his daughter and her best friend on Fuller House. This wholesome show is a great reminder of how powerful family can be. D.J. is a fantastic parent to her children and always puts them first – even though life gets in the way. At the same time, Kimmy is a single mother learning how to navigate the world. She isn’t conventional, but that’s what makes her parenting style so great to watch.

Jane, Jane the Virgin

Jane wasn’t planning on becoming a mother (probably the opposite of the situation you’ve found yourself in now), but she did – and she was a great one to Mateo. Not only does she learn from other parents, but she goes out of her way to be compassionate with her son. Take her advice and read some of the parenting books, but don’t be afraid to listen to your own heart and mind.

Lorelei Gilmore, Gilmore Girls

Lorelei Gilmore is a fantastic parent even though she is still learning. She isn’t always perfect, but she handles things extremely well. The one thing you should learn from her parenting skills is the ability to communicate – her and Rory have their struggles, but they are always ready to talk things out.
