About Surrogacy

Surrogacy involves you, EDSI, and a group of caring professionals, working together to achieve a successful outcome in building your family. Our goal is to provide you with personal one-on-one attention and a commitment to find the right Surrogate for you. As Intended Parents, you will have a hands-on experience in selecting the Surrogate who will carry your baby. You will get to choose a Surrogate that fits your ideal type, wants to have the level of communication and connection that you want, and is willing to work with your family. This is a collaboration of the highest extent, so we ensure that all parties get along and work well together.

If you are interested in becoming a parent through surrogacy, connect with us today and we can get started on the process.

What Is Gestational Surrogacy?

Gestational surrogacy uses eggs and sperm from other people to create an embryo. That embryo is then implanted into the Surrogate. The baby will have no biological connection to the Surrogate. While there are some cases where the Egg Donor and the Surrogate may be the same, this is increasingly rare.

By ensuring that the baby and the Surrogate do not have biological connections, it is mentally easier on the Surrogate.

It is important to note that the Surrogate undergoes a medical procedure called In-Vitro to get pregnant with the baby. The Intended Parents will either provide the egg and the sperm for the baby, or they will go through the processes of getting donations from outside sources.

How Do Intended Parents Find Gestational Surrogates?

EDSI has a roster of vetted, reputable Surrogates that we have at the ready. You will be able to look through our Surrogates and determine who has the qualifications that you want. As a surrogacy agency, we have helped hundreds of families grow and shift – we can provide you with expert matching services. Many of our Surrogates have worked with us previously – so we can connect you to someone who will be a perfect match.

We always match our Surrogates to Intended Parents based on their compatibility and shared goals. For more information about our process, connect with our team today.

How Much Does Surrogacy Cost?

Surrogacy costs are based on many different things, including the type of surrogacy that you want to pursue, the agency that you work with, what type of surrogate you work with, if you want multiples, and many other variables. Agency fees are typically straightforward and do not change, but there are some expenses that can vary. For more information about surrogacy costs, please reach out to our team.

Does Health Insurance Cover Surrogacy?

Before becoming a Surrogate, the person who carries your baby should have her own insurance plan. Most of the costs will be covered by this company. However, there are some variables and sticking points with some insurance companies. A surrogacy agency will be able to help you to work through these troubles and make decisions that will be the best for your situation.

Typically, the health insurance of the Intended Parents is not used at any point throughout the procedure unless they use the eggs from the Intended Mother. Even then, some insurances will cover that procedure and some will not.

How Involved Are Parents During Surrogacy?

Before your Surrogate undergoes the medical procedure to get pregnant, your caseworker will sit down to talk to you about the contact you will have with her. In fact, this typically happens before any contracts are signed. The frequency of the contact, and the type of contact, that you will have before, during, and after pregnancy are all strictly laid out in legal terms as part of the surrogacy plan.

Now, some Surrogates are willing to have quite a bit of contact while others do not want a lot of contact. You need to determine which level will feel comfortable for you – particularly after the baby has been born.
